Across the globe, governments are expected to achieve several important tasks including large-scale economic progress, increasing welfare level, and establishing sufficient healthcare and education systems. Some of us mostly care about economic aspects; whilst others claim that a country should improve its economic and social situation together. In this essay, it is aimed to look at arguments on both sides, using particular public surveys as an example.

To begin, as we all know, the primary and crucial duty that governments have to do is forging world-class economical conditions. The reason behind this is twofold, firstly, a vast variety of job opportunities should be created by governments to drop unemployment rates because everybody has to earn living for household expenses. Secondly, according to a recent study investigating the people who are dependent on public help, more than 30% of the population of Turkey have been keeping their standards of living through the government aid. Although even the presence of well economy, it is not unavoidable that the minority of citizens may need the government aid; so authorities ought to promote them both financially and socially to prevent them against being isolated from the society.

On the other hand, it is intuitively obvious that humankind is social organisms, and more than money is required to fulfill their social, health, and education needs. For example, the recent paper from the Oxford University revealed that people who live in well-developed countries which ensure qualify and affordable healthcare and education to their citizens are far more satisfied than those who live in undeveloped countries. Thus, social needs of communities cannot be ignored to construct a great homeland.

Personally speaking, I definitely agree with the latter opinion. This is because mankind is a social object; therefore, governments should work on how to improve their citizens’ social abilities and economic incomes.

In conclusion, there is no doubt that people must be considered as a social form, and taking necessary precautions regarding peaceful social and economical environment must be an attainable goal for all governments.
