The table shows the rate of students continuing in four different kinds of secondary schools from 2000 to 2009. At first glance, it is seen that the percentage of students attending community school increased steadily, while other types of schools attandance rates decreased over the nine-year period of time.

Initially, the given data in the table reveal that the proportions of pupils in voluntary-controlled schools dropped from more than half to a fifth in this time frame. Congruently, the number of students in grammar schools declined from just under one quarter to above one in ten in the same period. As concerns the specialist schools, the percentage of pupils continuing this sort of school showed a slight fall.

On the other hand, while the popularity of other three types of schools diminished in time, that of the community schools gained boost in the given period. Actually, while only a small minority (12%) of students were educated in these schools in 2000, this ratio rose significantly to over more than half of all students at the end of 9 years time.
