The administrators of a university are revising their budget and have decided to change their funding priorities. As a result, the university will now spend more money on sports and athletic facilities than they do on the campus libraries.
Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your position.
In the science world, without any doubt, universities have a considerable position. University institutions have the job of submitting at utmost level of education by doing scientific researches and publications. Therefore, I believe that to proceed to the next step in the way of imroving the level of knowledge and education, the managements of a college should allocate more funds for the campus library instead of sports. I will elaborate on my viewpoint with two spectacular reasons.
First and foremost, since universities are in the position of making the intellectual power and the culture of students increase and help them to be liberal, researcher and creative individuals, they should necessarily keep their libraries up-to-date by creating more budget. In this way, pupils can easily reach all kinds of knowledge they search for. What is more, lots of recent and reliable sources, in this way, would encourge them to read more, considering the fact that most of the students may not be able to purchase them as most of the publications are unnaffordable for them. To illustrate, the university I went to was in countryside and had a library with inadequate sources. When I was a sophomore, while I was doing my investigation for my assignments, I had to struggle with a serious lack of sufficient books. One year later, most of the students wrote petitions for redress to the rectorate demanding the administrator to develop the library. As a result, soon after the library was improved, it was full of excellent resources and swarmed with pupils every day.
Furthermore, no doubt, atheneums with a silent ambiance help students to both focus on their studies, and raise their motivation, which eventually leads to excellent outcomes for both universities and students. To achieve this aim, the directors should charmingly put their libraries in order, which can only be actualized by allocating more funds. To exemplify, during my university life, I had to stay in a six-person room of the dormitory. Hence, I was not able to study or concentrate on my lessons owing to the unbearable noise of the dorm. That is why, the campus atheneum was always a rescuer of me by offering a cubic system so that we would not be disturbed by other distractors. By this means, I could easily become adapted to all of my topics and be successful in all my studies.
In conclusion, the libraries are the heart of colleges, if universties want to play effective roles in scientific achievements, they need to attach importance to improve their atheneums. For this reason, I believe that the executives of universities should spend more money on campus libraries rather than sports and athletic facilities.
