The table data illustrates the percentage of students' participation in four different kinds of schools from 2000 to 2009. Overall, it can be seen that the proportions of pupils attending specialist schools, grammar schools, and voluntary-controlled schools decreased whereas community schools increased.

In the year 2000, the percentage of student attendance in voluntary-controlled schools was the highest with 52%. Then it dramatically went down to 38%, and 20% in a period of 9 years, respectively. Similarly, the number of students in grammar schools dropped from a quarter to just less than a fifth. The other secondary school attendance is specialist schools that are not the same with others. It remotely fell with the rate of 2% in a period of 9 years, from 12% to 10%.

On the other hand, while the other three types of schools declined significantly, the percentage of the students in community schools raised to 32% between 2000 and 2005. Moreover, It continued rising and then it arrived at 58% in 2009.
