The line graph illustrates the amount and types of Australian Tennagers' preferences of fast food during the period of 1975 and 2000. At first glance, it is clear to say that the consumption of Pizza and Hamburgers increased, whereas that of fish and chips decreased over the period of twenty five years between 1975 and 2000.
Firstly, fish and chips was the most popular fast food of teenagers in the period of 1975 and 1985 although there was a slight fall in its consumption in the first five-year period. After a slight rise in fish and chips' consumption from 1980 to 1985, it declined dramatically from nearly 100 times a year to less than 40 times a year between 1985 and 2000. In 2000, fish and chips lost its popularity and became the least desired fast food by teenagers compared with the other two fast foods.
Contrary to fish and chips, pizza and hamburgers were the least popular fast food by teenagers in 1975. The consumptions of them went up during 25 years and they became more popular than fish and chips in 2000. These fast foods were consumed nearly 20 times a year in 1975, but they were consumed more than 80 times a year in 2000. Hamburgers' consumption rose more rapidly than Pizza's consumption in 1975 and 1995 and it reached its peak in 1995, with 100 times eaten a year.
