It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behaviour to children?

At the present time, children are being exposed to various techniques to find out the distinction between positive and negative consequences of punishment. I would not tend to agree with the given idea because I believe that punishment can lead to serious psychological issues and damage in the sense of well-being of juveniles. This essay will explain the impacts of punishment on kids at their early ages.

First of all, punishment is a highly debatable execution. It is an obvious fact that humans regardless of their ages make mistakes. However, humans are prone to take lessons from their faults and experiences. Hereby, they can clearly distinguish which one would produce counter-productive results or which one may lead to good tricks to build up right behaviors. Moreover, punishments might affect their psychological health. Unfortunately, it would pave the way for the committers to become schizophrenia, bipolar syndrome and anxious. Thus, they become distant from society and their learning ability can be damaged while a helpful conclusion is expected.

In addition, it is an indisputable fact that the most important thing is that parents are the role model for children to act and learn to build a good behavior. At a young age, children can be more rebellious. Therefore, if parents scold or spank them for their misbehavior, they may become even more aggressive. They cannot express themselves and they can feel the sense of loneliness. For this reason, kids may tend to feel an aversion towards themselves, which can make their school life full of issues and confrontations. This, no doubt, harms their performance at school. They disserve themselves or their friends with feeling sense of failure, even with psychological attacks. They can even have an attempt to commit suicide.

As for the type of punishments, as Joseph Joubert said '' children need models rather than critics'', we may take a lesson from this sentence, and we should not forget that kids are our mirrors. Besides, parents should be friendly to their children instead of pushing them.

In conclusion, it is a noticeable fact that educating children at early ages is crucial in trems of teaching them the right or wrong sides of any issue. I strongly support that adults should be vigilant about the impacts of the external surroundings to affect the health of their juveniles mentality and physicaly.
