Some people think that the best way to reduce crime is to give longer prison sentences. Others, however, believe there are better alternative ways of reducing crime.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is a widely known fact that in the developing world, crime has been a serious problem in human history. First and foremost, some people argue that the most effective method to cut down the rate of crime is to extend prolong jail, while others claim that there are different pathes to decline the crime. It seems to me that crime is a seriously increasing issue in all societies which would be explained in the forthcoming paragraphs.

To begin with, it is true that giving longer prison sentences could reduce the crime proportion in the society because of several reasons. Secondly, a better alternative way of reducing crime is by providing staff training and education. Nowadays, the root of most crime commitments is financial problems. This means that being unemployed as a consequence of lacking professional skills and being without any diploma has become quite common in most societies. Hence, they have to commit a crime to survive in this relentless world. For instance, we witness on the TV, news or radio that there are a few number of criminals. Even if they receive tough punishments and torchered, unfortunately, they do not give up their attitudes and behaivours.

Furthermore, a huge number of people debate that instead of torchering and lashing a prisoner, it is better to governments to give them some jobs like cleaning environment or should work them in mine factories until they recognise themselves. Thus, both the government gains some profits from jailer by not spending our taxes, and the hostages learn some tasks, which could help them in the future to prevent committing a crime. For example, in this contemporary world, it is clear for everybody that the majority of prisoners live in prosperity and best quality. As far as I am concerned, prisons have to repay all their expenditures whenever their sentence is over or shoud work for government without any payment until they finish their debts.

When it comes to the conclusion, it could be claimed that staying longer duration in prison might bring down crime. However, I strongly believe that there are better alternative ways to achieve these objections, including providing proper jobs and presenting necessary education for the committers after they leave the prison.
