In the last 20 years there have been significant developments in the field of information technology (IT), for example the World Wide Web and communication by email. However, these developments in IT are likely to have more negative effects than positive in the future.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Significant advances have been made in information technology (IT) in the last 20 years, and at the same time it has seriously changed people's lives. However, while these technological developments have had many contributions to the world, I am of the opinion that IT will create more negative effects than positive ones in the future.

Talking about the positive side, e-mails, as an IT technology, have made communication simpler and more formal. As an example of this, we can say that international companies use e-mail to communicate. Today, it is possible to keep in contact with touching tools such as letters and faxes without waiting for a long time, or video calls can be made through online platforms. In addition, another advantage is that it is possible to access information in every field with the world wide web by only a click. For instance, people can take training and analyze data online without the need for encyclopedias, periodicals or books. These developments can make people's lives more livable and easier by providing access from all corners of the world.

On the other hand, not all these new developments will be beneficial. For example, since it became easier for people to communicate via e-mail, all communicating tools such as face-to-face conversation, visiting, writing letters and waiting excitedly have lost their values. All these loss of worth can result in people losing their sociality and damaging the strong bonds between them. In addition, we may conclude that it may not be possible to control the web due to its large data. Thanks to web cookies, restrictions are possible and we have a high security. When we face with various viruses, concerns that they may cause problems we cannot cope with apears, especially when it comes to accessing sites which are harmful to children. Moreover, as a result of any carelessness, we may face violations of rights such as not protecting our personal information completely.

As a result, I think that even though the advantages of technological developments are many, the disadvantages will outweigh them. If the necessary precautions are not taken, the disadvantages of IT will cause more serious harms for the society and individuals.
