The table demonstrates the percentages of four different types of secondary school attendance rates from 2000 to 2009. Overall, it is seen that while the percentages of the three types of school attendances saw huge decrease, the proportion of attendance in Community Schools increased considerably.
Firstly, the percentage of attandance in Specialist Schools in 2000 was 12 per cent, which was similar to the rates of Community Schools. In 2005, Specialist Schools recorded a gentle decline for about one percent. In the end, the rate of specialist schools attandance experienced a slight reduction. Meanwhile, the Grammar Schools had twice as much attendance as Specialist Schools in 2000.
Secondly, voluntary-Controlled Schools' attendance proportion with 52 percent was more than other schools' attendance rates. However, it dropped dramatically to 32 percent in 2005. In 2009, there was a huge decline by 20 percent. On the other hand, the number of students in community Schools went up markedly year by year. Finally, the attendance rate of this school finished the period at 58 percent in 2009.
Consequently, the number of students in specialist Schools and pupils percentages of Grammar Schools diminished year by year. Similarly, attendance proportion of Voluntary-Controlled Schools dipped down. Oppositely, the percentages of community Schools attendance grew up steadily. In 2009, pupils propotion of Community Schools came at 58 percent.
