Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say that the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement.

To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?

In the recent years, our consumption rates have increased sharply and for this reason different types of waste have been produced. However, nobody tries to fix the problem and generally publics believe that it is the duty of the government to solve issue. I definitely believe that governments should impose the laws and seriously fine the violators to ensure proper waste recycling.

Firstly,  a new law of recycling would be solution-oriented for the problem of waste. If the new law is deterrent and retributive, individuals can have responsibility and governments should make a legal obligation for homeowners to divide all waste into the different bins. Additionally, these bins could be seperated as recyclables and non-recyclables. Moreover, government should have a campaign on social media against all detrimental waste problem. In this way, people will become conscious about the results of the crisis in the world.

On the other hand, there are many ways to enhance the results of consumption materials. Only laws are not an enough solution for the waste problem. Schools ought to educate the students in the matter of negative impact of waste problem. I think the first step should be adult education because children copy their parents’ behaviour. Besides, public training centres can be used to inform people about the bad effects of waste and additionally instructors can prepare comprehensible presentations, posters and brochures.

To sum up, regulating the process of recycling waste such as issuing new recycling laws and campaigns on the social media could give benefits to the society. What is more, education has a very significant role in this process. I strongly believe that the recycling process requires serious laws and at the same time people should be encouraged for the future generation.
