You will move to a new city for work. You know some people who live there.

In your letter,

  • Ask them for help finding accommodation

  • Tell them where you would like to live

  • Tell them the type of place you are looking for

Dear Zeynep,

Hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to ask for suggestions. I am currently going to a shift to New York City for three months. Since this is the first time I will be travelling to New York, would you be kind enough to help me find a place to live?

My workplace is in downtown, so I would like to live near a subway station or a bus terminal. Additionally, it should be near the shopping center. I would also need a house a few meters away from the park for my daily morning run.

I would like to live in a single bedroom in a shared apartment which will suit me well. Maybe, the roof floor with windows that help me look at the beautiful views will be a nice option. In addition to the presence of Round-the-clock security, access to free Wi-Fi will make my life easier. It’s not a problem to share the kitchen with others. However, I prefer to have my private bathroom. I can manage my laundry if one is available in common within the building. It should have average rent fees as I'm not asking for much and will live there for a short time. Please call me if you need any additional information.

Thank you for your attention to read this letter. I will look forward for your help and quick response.

Yours Faithfully,

Kubra Yilmaz.
