In some cultures, children are often told that they can achieve anything if they try hard enough. What are the advantages and disadvantages of giving children this message ?

In some societies, children are taught that they can accomplish anything if they chase their goals intensely. This case causes many advantages for children to reach triumph. However, sometimes, this situation may leave detrimental effects on kids. I will discuss this issue and explain the advantages and disadvantages of this topic in the following essay.

Firstly, on the one hand, children's willpowers and capacities are evoked by their parents and teachers. Thanks to this way, children gain stamina to achieve their goals. Relatives of children encourage them by saying that if they work sufficiently hard, they can definetely arrive their destination. Students when hear hortative words reinforce their studies and remember that they should not give up. For instance, I have a friend, who is a doctor in the USA, he suffered from poverty in his early life and lost his belief to himself. However, his teacher discovered his prodigy and started to stimulate him to recover his positiveness. After this happened, my friend became hardworking and did not abandon his dreams and as a result, nowadays, he works as a physician in the USA.

On the other hand, these types of conversations lead adolescents to competitive and overbearing atmosphere. Kids who are exposed to high level of pressure, melt away their faith and persistence and after that they cannot focus on their studies or works. Due to this pressure, a plethora of disorders are revealed in their bodies. In addition to this, the result of a research claims that a majority of teenagers face a variety of psychological and physical diseases. Besides, some children determine unrealistic aims for themselves and they generally fail to reach success. These kinds of events have some ill effects on children. For example, my mother always encouraged my sister to follow her dreams and thus my sister's self-confidence boomed. She decided to realize her utopic aim and therefore she looked for the way to be a millioner. She experienced numerous negative and destructive events. Nowadays, she does not believe in herself and she surrenders tenacity and frustration.

In conclusion, in the light of these notions, children are sometimes emboldened that hardworking is a key point to reach a dream and to boost their motivations. However, if people cannot adjust the correct dose, this method reveals some adverse results for children's psychology.
