In today's world, it is an undeniable fact that information technology carves out a substantial place in people's lives. From workplaces to home, it is feasible to see the effects of it. In this essay, it is aimed to take both the advantages and the disadvantages of information technology into account, and explain how the pros of it outweigh the cons.

On one hand, with the help of information technology, the knowledge that people want to reach out is one click away from them. However, a few decades ago, people used to spend a considerable amount of time on getting the information and they had to deal with several sources such as varied books. Moreover, thanks to the information technology, learning process is more affordable today. In the past, people used to pay for the books, dictionaries, transportation in the process of getting information. Yet, owing to the information technology facilities of today, as long as a person has a technological device, they can find out every kind of information that they wonder about.

On the other hand, the development of information technology has brought some problems as well. In this case, the information pollution existing on the websites comes into sight. Reaching out the information might be easier. However, accessing the accurate information is getting challenging day by day. In addition to this, a majority of websites do not refer to the owner of the ideas that they share. It causes confusions in the readers of these websites and the owners of the ideas, as well.

Despite the fact that there are some untowarded outcomes of information technology, the beneficial sides that it brings cannot be neglected. Thanks to information technology, the process of getting information is much shorter than the old times. Thus, it is seen that the advantages of information technology outweighs its disadvantages.

In conclusion, there are both good aspects and unwanted aspects of information technology. As the good aspects, the quickness and cheapness of reaching the information can be mentioned. As the unwanted aspects, the hardness of finding the true information and not enough references to the owner of the ideas comes into sight. However, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
