Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world. Is it a positive or negative development?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
It is a widely known fact that because of the facilities that technology has brought in, globalization has become a reality. In today's world, it is seen that owing to the globalization, countries are getting more analogue to each other day by day since every person has the opportunity of buying the same products. In this essay, it is aimed to expand the reasons for this detrimental event.
Primarly, undeniably, nations' diversities are the phenomena which make every country idiosynchratic. With the help of cultural distinctions, people recognize how unique they are and how diversified people exist in the world. Thanks to these distinctions, people wonder about the other cultures and have an urge to find out about the other nations' customs. However, because of a bunch of matter of facts, such as fast fashion and online shopping, that took place with the help of technology, these diverities of countries have started to disappear. For instance, people in various reigons used to wear different types of traditional outfits in the past time. However, because of the spreading out of fast fashion from east to west, people started to wear identical outfits which have no spesifications.
Moreover, because of the easy access to worldwide known brands, some undeveloped and developing countries turned out to be consumer societies. In this case, they started to purchase mass and serial products produced by developed countries. Therefore, the number of people who have the desire to work out in the way of improving their countries experienced a decrease. Compared to the times that globalization was only a dream, a scaling up in the number of consumer societies can be easily seen.
In conclusion, the increasing resemblance of countries because of the availability of purchasing the identic products from all over the world has had no positive effects by no manner of means. As the disatvantages of it, the decrease in the diversity of nations and climbing ups in the numbers of consumer societies can be taken into account.
