The table chart illustrates four school types and their proportion of pupils between the years 2000 and 2009. Overall, it can be seen that the rate of attendance in community schools had a considerable increase, while that in other three school types gradually decreased.
To begin, in the begenining of the period, the community schools had a low percentage of attendance at 12%. After some 5 years, there was more than half of this percentage increase to reach 32% in 2005. Subsequently, this school type kept rising and ireached its peak point in the year 2009.
On the other hand, it can be seen that there were three different types of the schools, which were grammar schools, specialist schools and voluntary-controlled schools. Firstly, voluntary-controlled schools had the lion's share with 58 percent in 2000. After that, it decreased 14% in 2005. Furthermore, voluntary-controlled schools decreased dramatically until the end of the period. Similarly, the proportion of grammar schools fell from 24% to 19% in the same period. It finished the term at 12%. The proportion of specialist schools started the period with 12% and at the end of the period, it decreased to 10%, which was the minimum rate on the table.
