The bar chart gives information about the compenents of GDP from IT and Service Industries in the UK from 1992 to 2000 in percentage. Overall, it can be seen that there was in increase in the percentage of GDP in both industries at the end of the time frame. Furthermore, the rise in the IT Industry was bigger than the Service Industry.
Initially, the Service Industry comprised 4% of GDP in 1992, whereas the IT Industry exceeded 6% in the same year. In the subsequent four years, a slight decrease is seen in the gap between both components. In these years, their value remained nearly between 6% and 8%. While an exiguous decrease of GDP is observed in the IT Industry from 1994 to 1996, the Service Industry did not still surpass it.
İn the following years, the IT Industry soared. This increase was 4% in 1998 but it reached to 12% in 2000. However, the rise in the Service Industry was very slow. As a result, the difference in the level of components of GDP in both industries became bigger. Finally, the GDP percentage in the IT Industry was almost twice as much as that in the Service industry in 2000.
