This table illustrates information about the percentanges of secondary school attendance in a period of 9 years from 2000 to 2009. A brief examination of the table chart reveals that attendance in community schools has increased. However, the attendance in other three types of schools decreased over the given period.
To begin with, voluntary-cotrolled schools had the highest percentage of attendance with 52% in the year 2000, although this value fell down significantly from 38% to 20% in the following 9 years. In addition, the rate of pupils in grammar schools started with 24% in the year 2000. Nevertheless, this proportion decreased gradually, and finally reached 12% in the year 2009. Furthermore, the value of attendance in specialist schools 12% in the year 2000, but this percentage declined to 10% in the year 2009.
On the other hand, while the number of students in the other three types of schools declined significantly, the opposite was true for the community schools, whose attendance percentage started with a quite low value at 12%. However, this value increased to 38% within first five years and continued to grow sharply up to 58% within following four years.
