The table illustrates the proportion of pupils attending four distinct types of secondary schools between the years 2000 and 2009. Overall, it is noticeable that the community schools had a considerable increase in percentage of those who attended their instutions over a period of 9 years, whereas it is seen that others declined moderately.
The community schools students were the least atttending ones amoung all pupils in 2000 with the same percentage of students in specialist, 12%. However, in 2005, it increased nearly three times and then reached a peak of 58% over the 4 years. Voluntary-controlled schools attandences were slightly higher than a half compared to grammar schools attandences with less than a fifth in 2000. On the other hand, Voluntary-controlled schools' popularity started to decrease between 2000 and 2009. It is observed that rate of atandence in community schools had a significant increase over a period of 9 years, while that in other school types decreased gradually.
In 2009, it can be seen that pupils in specialist schools were the least attending. Whereas, those in community schools were far more than the other three schools. Voluntary-controlled had the rate a fifth, while 12% of the children in grammar schools attended more than those in specialist.
