Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life. Which do you consider to be the major influence?
Some of the researches on people's personal traits point out that the characteristic features that people are born with take place as the qualities having the major impact on humans' identities and compared to these features, the experiences that they have gone through do not have an effect on people's personalities as much as the ones people are born with do. In this essay, the reasons why I do not line up with the outcomes of the researchs will be ferreted out.
First of all, it is a widely known fact that children are not born with some specific traits. From the first day of their existence, they observe, mimic adults and they give a shape to their personality day by day in this way. And beyond any doubt, the families and schools take the lion's share when it comes to the environment that people take shape in. For instance, none of the children come to the world with the knowledge of some bad behaviours. When they come face to face with the behaviours of their family members or friend's manner in varied circumstances, they imitate them without questioning if it is a good or bad act.
In addition, life is full of unexpected events that no one can predict before they spring up. And all of these occurings can have major influences on our character development. For example, a person who has been pretty ignorant about environmental issues can change her/his manner towards these issues with the help of an advertisement on TV or with a documentary they watch. Owing to the fact that people are exposed to changes without their consent, their personalities never stop to take shape and get influenced by outside world.
In conclusion, as the opposite of what some researchs reveal, people get exposed to incidents causing some alteration on their personality, no matter if it is major or minor. The ebodiment of a person's personality never stops until the day they die since people are going to get influenced by the outside world. There are no characteristics that we are born with. All of them are the outcomes of our interactions with people in distinct stages of our lives.
