The charts below give information about the USA marriage and divorce rates between 1970 and 2000, and the marital status of adult Americans in two of the years.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

As it can be clearly seen, while the first given chart demonstartes the mariage and divorce numbers in the USA from 1970 to 2000, the second given chart stands for illustarting the American adults' marital status in the same period. By and large, it is seen that the married people carve out a bigger percenatge, and marriage rates are above the divorce rates.

Prelusively, it is observed that at the beggining of the period, the number of marriages was 2.5 millions. However, the marriage numbers experienced a decline through time. From 1970 to 1980, the marriage figures stayed steady. As regards to the divorce rates, in spite of the occurence of a scaling up in 1980 and a decrease in 1990, the quantitiy stayed the same at the end, compared to the beggining.

When it comes to the second chart, it is found out that married people made up the largest part of marital status of adult Americans by a wide margin. The percentage of the status “never married” acquired a small growth in 30 years. A quite small-scale drop in the percentages of widow people sprang up. Finally, a climbing up in the percentage of the divorced took place in 30 years period time.
