Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today's world, subject like Science and Technology are more important than History.
Discuss both these views and give your opinion.
Today, in almost all education systems, there exist many debates related to how school curriculums should be organized. The defenders of one side claim that History lessons should be outweighed in the curriculum. Others, on the other hand, allege that the importance of technological subjects should be perceived as more crucial. I will exhibit quite a moderate attitude related to this topic and examine both of these ideas in the following essay.
Firstly, the value of having a mindset with History education always ensures unarguable contribution for all individuals due to the fact that nations should learn about their ancestors’ lives and take an array of lessons from their experiences. For instance, a group of Japanese pupils visited an area where an atom bomb had exploded. After this visitation, they could construct a new settlement in that place. Forwhy, thanks to this practical History lesson, they drew from their nations’ fate and were aware of the importance of their efforts on their own state. As it is seen, in terms of progress on national consciousness, History classes play a vital role in any education system. That is why its necessity should not be underestimated at all.
When the subject is examined in terms of science and technology, it is clear that having science and technology knowledge is a monstrous need. First and foremost, the absence of technical skills immediately puts every nation in a position of an undeveloped country. This is because today's measurement of reputation is totally linked to countries’ levels of development. We can not ignore this reality while we are maintaining our lives in the contemporary era. To give an example, in the corona virus quarantine days, all of the world was looking for a remedy with the help of science. It would be impossible if people were not able to reach enough syllabus regarding science.
When it comes to my humble opinion, I do not share the opinion that only one lesson should be put forward as more significant. Unless the mindset of History is crowned with modern science, can this awareness serve human-being in their daily lives? Also, if people did not experience various cautionary situations in the past, they could not create an infrastructure for possible conditions such as a pandemic. It can not be denied that science and history continues in a cumulative way and at this point there is a compulsory integration between these disciplines.
Consequently, the content of History, Science and Technology lessons have supplementary components. These lessons have unique values in human’s history. Therefore, instead of preferring only one of them, it seems more logical to evaluate them in different classifications.
