The Pie chart shows the amount of money that a childrens’s charity located in the USA spent and received in one year, 2016.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.


The pie chart illustrates the amount of revenue and expenditures of charity in the USA in 2016. Overall, it can be clearly seen that the amount of donated food was a major income among other revenue sources, while the percentage of program services had the most share in the expenditures chart.

First of all, donated food made up most of the revenue sources with 86.6 % of all incomes. Community contributions which was the second largest income sources, became 10.4 % of overall income. The other revenue sources categories were much smaller. The proportion of program revenue, investment income, goverment grants and other income were 3 % in total.

As for the expenditures chart, it is clearly noticed that Program Services provided 95,6% of expenditures of children's charity, which was far larger than the proportions of Fundraising and Management and general, with 2,6% and 1,6%, respectively.

To sum up, we can conclude that in the year 2016, the charity’s total income was $53,561,580, while the expenditures total outgoings was $53,224,896. As a result, the charity’s income was slightly more than its expenditures in one year time.
