It is inevitable that as technology advances, traditional cultures will be lost. It seems that we cannot have these two things together.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, development of technology is unstoppable and it goes on day by day. Some people suggest that this irrepressible situation destroys traditional cultures and both of them can not progress together. However, I am of the opinion that this suggestion is not true because of the meaning of culture and contribution of technology for spreading cultures.

First, I want to mention the meaning of cultures for understanding reconception. Culture is a cumulative concept which means all generations put on new explicit knowledge in the time they live. In this way, archaic cultures are transformed into a new type of culture. For example, playing football is a traditional culture in Brazil. The meaning of football is more than just a sport for Brazilians; it more means friendship for them. Less people are playing football today because of computer games. In the first observation, it looks like a danger for traditional football culture of Brazilians; however, playing online games can be a new culture. In this way, new generations can learn friendship from online games. Therefore, culture will not disappear, it will just be transformed into a new shape of structure.

Moreover, other than the conversion of culture with technology, technological advancement assists cultures to spread in other regions. For example, thanks to Youtube, people can learn lots of information about former cultures; thus, I learned about Inca’s lifestyle by Youtube. In this way, the nation which already disappeared has been persevered in my memory due to this application.

In contrast, many of elderly people are against technological development. Their idea is that old customs die away when improvements take their place, and they usually say “good old days”. This perception has been continuing through history, but it never chains novelty. Therefore, humanity has moved on to their sarvodaya.

In conclusion, although it is mostly agreed that both technological development and traditional cultures can not tackle together, culture and technology can be brought up together, and in this way, cultures can be transformed instead of being lost. Technology even ensures cultures to expand around the world. That is why I strongly disagree with the question's approach.
