"Prevention is better than cure."

Out of a country's health budget, a large proportion should be diverted from treatment to spending on health education and preventative measures.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Some people defend that governments ought to allocate more money for expenditures on treatment rather than health education and precaution measures, whereas others support the idea that providing large amounts of money on prevention techniques should be our priority to cure diseases. From my point of view, more money should be invested on the prevention techniques and education programs.

It is a well-known fact that forestalling disease to happen costs less than the treatment of illnesses for several reasons. First of all, tremendous money is invested by the authorities of the countries on the companies of drug and surgical appliances manufactured every year to heal their citizens. However, this waste of money can be reduced by taking a precaution before getting sick. By this mean, while the demand of drug and medical devices per person is diminished, country's health budget is preserved.

Additionally, when a person suffers from an ailment, alleviating its condition requires more money than educating them on acquiring healthly life habits such as building a balanced-diet, doing exercises or quitting smoking. For instance, goverments can readily inform their civilians generating a leaflet about how to set a nourishing diet which is obviously cheaper to constructing hospitals, producing medications or training doctors. Furthermore, promotion of healthy lifestyles and obstructing disease to occur are fundamental principles behind improving public health and rising people's awareness of robust living eventually causes an decrease in the number of ill people in the public. In accordance with this situation, less money is going to be used for remedy expenditures, and more money will be stored in the country's health account.

In conclusion, while there is a debate about whether the leaders of countries should utilize more money on treament than sanitation education and protective measures or not, I believe that saving more money for prevention is a better idea as it demands less amount of money from a country's health budget.
