Topic: In the last 20 years there have been significant developments in the field of information technology (IT), for example, the World Wide Web and communication by email. However, these developments in IT are likely to have more negative effects than positive in the future.

In terms of information technology, the last century has been the most revolutionary era in human history. The worldwide web and internet-based emails are two examples of these advancements. Based on these facts, I believe that the benefits of information technology highly outweigh the drawbacks.

On the positive side, emails have made communication much easier and faster, especially in the field of international. This has resulted in several advantages for commerce and business, as there is no longer any need to wait for weeks for letters or to waste time sending faxes, as it was the case before information technology. Furthermore, the worldwide web has made knowledge on practically any subject accessible to us. People can use the internet to get news, medical advice despite the fact that the majority of them are misleading, online education courses like what most of us experienced in 2020 as a result of the virus, apps for dating which my generation are able to find their belovings, and much more. Many people's lives have become much easier and more convenient as a result of these developments.

As for the negative sides of information technology, people claim that e-mailing has harmed the traditional methods of communication such as face-to-face communication or even calling and having a conversation with someone. Another claim regarding the negative effect of the internet is that there are some non-secure sites that children can easily access. These harmful websites have the potential to harm children's mental and emotional health. Last but not least, the spread of computer viruses is only going to get worse with time, causing users to get harm in a variety of ways. It is not fun to be scammed or even have your private details brought to light.

To sum up, information technology most currently has provided many benefits, setbacks. On the other hand, mischief users found a way to sabotage these developments. No doubt, when these problems are addressed, the users will be able to get benefits from this technology.
