Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that they should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
The issue of suitable academic syllabus is a fairly controversial topic nowadays. While granting freedom to undergraduates on choosing their studying field idea is emerging as a side, across opinion defenders claim that students should not have a liberty for preferring their own domain in their academic lives. This essay evaluates both of these ideas and pens down the author’s idea.
As a beginning, some whole the idea that students should be encouraged about studying their field of interest. After this exploration pupils ought to find a chance for developing their territories. Unless people could enhance an opportunity for pursuing a curriculum connected to their interests, they would not have continuity in their educational process effectively. However, this freedom should not be perceived as the view that students have a complete liberty in their own choices in their academic lives. In the academic area, this issue should be evaluated with its pros and cons and a balance between students' interests and lessons which are obligated in the universities should be found. Thus, not only can students reach an array of education, which includes their interests, but also they can pave the way for their future careers.
From the other perspective, the idea of providing students a syllabus, which involves specific areas for securing their future lives, should be examined from a to izzard. This situation inholds lots of components. Firstly, how it is possible to determine which abilities are necessary for students’ future careers? These questions' responses are changing day by day. If decision-makers do not take into account every single possibility, a lot of humans would be misdirected. In addition to this, everybody has unique skills accordingly to their personality features. For instance, if somebody has a gift in the field of art, directing them to get education in the field of science could result in frustration.
In short, neither leaving students to their fates or forcing them towards just one specific curriculum does not seem logical. Equilibrating should be found between undergraudates' interests and effective educational materials. When students encounter an educational atmosphere, as mentioned in the essay, they will have a chance to give shape to their lives smartly.
