In the last 20 years there have been significant developments in the field of information technology (IT), for example the World Wide Web and communication by email. However, these developments in IT are likely to have more negative effects than positive in the future.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In the last two decades, there have been remarkable advencement with regard to information technology. These advancements have changed people's lives tremendously. However, while these technological developments have brought many benefits to the world, I strongly believe that these progresses in IT will result in more negative impacts than positive ones.

On the positive side, thanks to email we can communicate handily and swiftly with other people, especially with those who live abroad. This situation provides enormous advantages for commericial and bussines life. By way of Skype, everyone talks with their relatives living in distant places. Furthermore, the World Wide Web means knowledge on every reasonable subject is now avaible for us. For instance, people can access online education, newspapers, books, medical advice, financial analyzes, entertainment etc, which are just a few clicks away.

Nevertheless, the effects of this new technology have not all been benefical. For example, due to the advencements such email or WhatsApp, people have forgot traditional communication methods such as writing letters, being on the horn and face to face convercation. This could outcome in a downfall in people's socialization skills, as a result of which society becomes isolated.

Also, if no measures are taken, the negative sides of information technology will mostly affect children. A case in point, they may simply surf in inconvenient web sites such as pornography and wager sites. In addition, by virtue of hackers, their personal information and images may be compromised.

In conclusion, despite the fact that tehnological growth has a lot of benefits, more negative effects can appear than positive ones in the IT. I think, if we do not maneuver, unfavourable situations will happen in the future.
