Earlier technological developments brought more benefits and changed the lives of ordinary people more than recent developments ever will.
To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.
For centuries, humankind has been working on the developement of technology and a lot of progress has been made on this way. However, it is argued that sometimes, the benefits of latest technological developements on ordinary people's lives is not as effective as the previous improvements did.
Technological developements have always been very significant in people's lives but some advanced versions of the old discoveries are not very useful for ordinary people. For instance, a coffeemaker without extreme features could be sufficient in ordinary people's lives whereas some special coffeemakers for coffee shops would be unnecessary to have. Or if a person who is not a professional wants to buy a camera just for recording the special moments, it would be meaningless to recommend him/her a special camera which is used for professional purposes.
In addition, new technological developements generally come up with overprices that are not too easy to afford. Some ordinary people might not be able to buy them. Moreover, they might require a special knowledge about the maintenance and usage that ordinary people have no idea. These reasons can make people's experiences unbearable instead of making their lives easier. And this conflicts with the aim of technological developments. Plus, in this circumstances, technological developements do not change anything in people's lives, except for the people who are qualified. Needless to say, whose who lack the required knowlegde do not have to buy them.
To sum up, latest technological developements cannot give ordinary people what they want all the time. Sometimes, it is better to turn our faces to earlier technological developments. The important part is not having the most recent developements.
