There are many different types of music in the world today. Why do we need music? Is the traditional music of a country more important than the International music that is heard everywhere nowadays?

You should write at least 250 words.Use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

From the beginning of the human history, music has played quite a vital role in people's lives. Some societies used the music to cure mental illnesses. Severel religions have the perception that music is a way to show their loyalty and devotion to their holy Gods. In contemporary society, music still protects its importance for humanity. When we consider our daily rouitines, while we are traveling by public transportation, doing exercise or focusing on our works, we use the music as a tool. In this essay, we will discuss the importance of traditional and international music for a community.

On one hand, every nation tends to protect its unique and vital heritage. In this context, states enforce some politics and especially adjust the school curriculum with this fact in mind. These kinds of national values are quite crucial in order to keep a safe communal identity. Music has a pivotal role in creating collective consiousness. To understand our ancestors' lifestyle, beliefs, happiness, and griefs we should listen to our traditional music and try to understand their intention with this music type. In this way, while we create national consiousness, we can keep our legacy alive at the same time.

On the other hand, modern age people live in a global world. We can easily access other cultures' lifestyles and music. With the technologicall revolution, the world has become a huge town. People easily learn about their music and while they are shopping, eating something in a cafe, they can accompany the playing music. We can not ignore international music's place in our lives. Listening to and knowing international music is a way to find a place in the society, especially for young people. Popular culture forces us to show interest in international music to catch up with the developing world. Lack of international music knowledge, for people aiming at joining the modern life, may cause deficency in terms of adapting the contemparary culture and being accepted by the norms of the society.

To sum up, my idea for this whole issue is that the subject of listening to music should have a balance in our lives. Traditional music knowledge is quite beneficial to be aware of knowing our national heritage and having this understood leads to belonging to the society we live in. From the other aspect, international music helps us to blend into the society we belong to.
