The bar chart and line graph illustrate the number of participants and gender who participated the Olympics Games from 1924 to 2012. Overall, it can be seen that the number of women was a drop in the ocean at the Olympics in 1924. Yet, we can observe that the number of women followed a steady increasing trend in the given period.
In details, while the total number of sportsmen and sportswomen attending the Olypics Games was 5000 in 1952, the number of sportswomen was only 500 in this year. Subsequently, while the number of women tripled, the number of men exceeded 5000 from 1952 to 1984. The number of female athletes increased significantly and approached 5000 athletes in 2012. Besides, we can observe that the number of male athletes steadily rose to reach its peak point at almost 6000 attendees in 2012. According to the second line graph, the number of participants went up gradually and overpassed 10000 athletes during the given time.
As a consequence, the given data reveal the fact that while the number of men rose, the number of women significantly boomed in the given years. The total number of athles accelerated with joining more women athletes after 1984. Finally, the number of all attending athletes exceeded 10.000 in 2012.
