The table describes the proportion of four different types of secondary school attendance from 2000 to 2009. Overall, as it can be seen from the table, while the ratio of community schools attendance rose over the period, those of other three types of the school attendance decreased.


First of all, the community school student attendance rate appeared to be the lowest level in 2000. This rate which was 12 percent in 2000, grew up to 32 percent in 2005. Then, when we look at the 2009, the year in which the attandance rate of this school reached its peak point.

On the other hand, the voluntary-controlled schools attendance rate which was the highest in 2000, began to go down. The percentage of pupils in this school shrank from 52% to 20% between the years 2000 and 2009. In the same way, the grammar school attendance proportion fell dramatically from 24% to 12% in the same period. Lastly, the specialist school which had the lowest attendance proportion in 2000 had the lowest proportion in 2009. The attendance percentage of these schools dropped from 12% to 10% during the period.
