It can be seen that different types of families live together in different geographies. Mostly, people who grow with East cultural elements choose to live together including grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. On the other side, some people think that nuclear family is more preferable. Although both of them have some benefits, living as extended family is the most beneficial lifestyle for two reasons.
The first benefit of the extended family is related to helping each other, because living in an extended families means that people who love and respect each other live together. That is why, they commonly help each other in day-to-day works. In the house where an extended family live, cleaning or cooking is easier because of the number of family members. For example, if uncles clean the houses when aunts cook or children water the flowers when grandparents do laundry the daily tasks will be done quickly. In addition to day-to-day works, raising children becomes easier in an extended family. If a baby joins this type of family, parents cannot be sleepless unlike parents who live in a nuclear family because the other family members also give their attention to the baby. In brief, living in an extended family makes family member's lives easier because they help each other with domestic works.
The second benefit of the extended family is about raising well-trained children. After babies are born, they have to learn a lot of things such as manners, responsibility, emotional control, empathy, conflict resoulation to become a member of society. Moreover, the children have to take also a formal education to be an individual. Although these component create a long list, the children can learn all of them easily by living with extended family. Because children in the extended family live with their cousins, they have to develop their emotion control and conflict resoulation skills as they argue or they have to develop their empathy skills as they share their toys with each other. Moreover, after school days, the family members help the children with their homework and school projects and in this way, children can learn being a responsible person. In addition to formal education, the older family members can help children by teaching their cultures and traditions. In short, living in a crowded family can contribute a lot of things to children's education and grows.
To sum up, it can be seen that extended families are beneficial for all family members in sense of helping each other and raising children. If people want to make their life easy for themselves and to raise their children with well-character values, they should prefer to live in an extended family rather than living with a family which includes parents and children only.
