“The administrators of a university are revising their budget and have decided to change their funding priorities. As a result, the university will now spend more money on sports and athletic facilities than they do on the campus libraries. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not?”

Managing the budget is one of the hardest issues in today's crowded market of schools. In my view, administrators of a university should allocate more budget to sports and athletics than to library. The following essay intends to explore the reasons to support this idea.

To begin with, sports activities are quite distinctive events for increasing the popularity of colleges. These kinds of activities can be an intermediary to make the university visible all around the world. To open the subject a little bit more, I would like to give an example. When I was watching the national sports channel on television one day, I saw a group of footballers while they were advertising their college. I had not heard anything about them before until I watched that channel because they were in a distant corner of the world for me. This event made their university audible because of their sports activities. Therefore, if a university wants to make themselves recognized, they should pay more attention to these kinds of occasions.

Secondly, sports and athletic activities lead students to be in unity. Sports make students' relationship strong, and originally, the olympic spirit concept is coming from that unity. For instance, most universities have multiple departments and faculties and countless students who are unable to distinguish one another. In this kind of situation, sports and athletic activities turn into common ground and by the agency of that, students start to expand their social circle. All students flock to stadiums or facilities and as a result, the unity and the bond are created. In conclusion, sports and athletic events are one of the best ways for building a strong synergy and unity.

All in all, administrators are sharing a pretty strenius mission and they have decided to establish the most efficient way to manage the fundings. From my perspective, creating more budget on sports and athletic facilities than on campus library is a solid idea. Universities are the most important education areas and we have to make the best decision with our limited resources.
