Artists need a certain amount of freedom to develop their creativity. Some people think that artists should have total freedom to express their thoughts and ideas. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is considered by most of the people that an artist needs freedom on their working issues in order to be able to create a piece of art. Some people think that freedom can create chaos among people with different life styles. In this essay, I am going to shed some light on this question from both points of views and then give my own opinion on this matter.

On one side of this argument, people argue that artist who puts forward their own work of art should be free. The main reason for believing this is that an artist has the duty to awaken the awareness of the the society they live. If an artist does not have enough freedom of expression, the community and culture of the society will be seriously damaged. For example, Amadeus Mozart came up with Austria's battle with Ottoman Empire. He composed Rondo Alla Turca which he heard the melody from the Mehter Orchestra of the Ottoman Empire. We can see the reflection of historical issue in the art.

On the other hand, people defend that artists have the ability to influence the society. In particular, there is a belief that problems are likely to occur in a pluralistic community where there is more than one culture and tradition. A part of society require that there should be some restrictions by government on artists. For instance, an artist who is processing the negative ethnicity topics can upset a part of society. Therefore, it is easy to see why this argument has gained support. And as a result of this, people advocate that a complete freedom of artists may be detrimental to the public.

To sum up, there are two ongoing views on the freedom of artists, one of which is that an artist should be given exemption to express views and creativity through the liberty to express and the other one is that there should be a few defined laws for artists. For my part, an artist must highlight several social issues, so that there exist an adequate amount of freedom. In addition to this, a few reasonable rules must be set to artists by the government, but they should not affect the creativity of the artists.
