The table introduces the proportions of students' attendance in four school types between the years 2000 and 2009 with the percentages. Overall, there was a significant increase in the rate of attendance in the community schools, while a dramatic decrease was seen in the voluntary controlled schools.
To begin, voluntary schools had the highest attendance percentages of 52% before rapidly declining to the lowest rate of its, one in fifth. Similarly grammar schools were in a downward trend and fell to a half from the beginning. Specialist schools also decreased moderately during the years and dipped to the lowest, one in fifth.
On the other hand, the percentage of students in community schools grew strongly during the years in contrast to the other three types of school. Despite the fact that the proportions of attendance in specialist schools and community schools were similar in 2000, the rate for community schools was afterwards in a sharp upward trend and reached its peak point at 58%, while the rates for specialist schools and grammar schools were gradually falling until the end of the period.
