Some organisations believe that their employees should dress smartly. Others value quality of work above appearance.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

In today's developing world, various types of professions require their employees to wear in a way to attract customers' attentions to their marketplaces. Due to this fact, the requirements are changing day by day. There is a controversial arguement whether employees should necessarily dress smartly or there is no need for such trend and effect in the business. This essay tries to examine and discuss both views along with the author's personal point of view.

To begin with, I believe that dressing is an effective way to express yourself and a good manner of representing your profession. Moreover, it shows how much you appreciate your job and your boss, as well. Hence, it can be vital to dress as it is a requirement of an office and in some businesses such as law, bureaucracy, consulting, or even in medical occupations. It is because you are under a responsibility and you have to be respectful both to yourself and to your clients, customers or patients. To illustrate this fact, last year, I used to work in a law office and I would wear blue jeans. My boss warned me to dress more elegant clothes like shirts, jackets and trousers which are not made from jean fabric. Paying attention to this advice let me get more respect from my collaborators and this improvement reflected its influence on my tasks. As a consequence, I believe that this can be seen as an expression of how much you care about your business.

Moving to the other aspect, we readily notice that some people consider that clothing is not such an important issue and does not have any effect on your working. The most substantial concern is the quality of your business. In terms of this comprehension, it is not essential to dress well or not, because clothing does not actually show the real value of your work, nor determines its standards. Moreover, according to the supporters of this idea, they do not give importance to your appearance, but rather, your skills and qualifications are the factors that matter for them. As long as the attribution of your work and the content of your tasks are in a good quality, the holders of this idea do not care about how you look.

In conclusion, while some people, including me, believe that workers should dress smartly as a necessity of respect, quality and ultimately influnce on the business, some others are of the opinion that it is not as important as the quality of the involved work. They mostly give priority to the efficiency of the service not to some decieving appearances.
