People benefit more from traveling in their own country than from travelling in other countries. Do you agree or disagree?

Travelling is really beneficial for our mental and psychological condition. When we travel, we can discover new places and we can easily avoid stress. From my perspective, people benefit more from travelling in their own country; so I come out in favour of the statement. There are two reasons why I think like this and I will explain it in the essay below.

To begin with, travelling influence our lives positively. While travelling, we can extend our views of life. We can get a lot of knowledge about places, cultures, historical or natural places, and traditional foods and so on. Therefore, I think people should first discover their own country. In contemporary world, we have too many options to discover our homelands. Unfortunately, we do not use these opportunities. However, we prefer to discover other countries rather than our own countries. For example, whenever I talk with my friends and relatives, every body wants to go to different countries but I think that if we do not learn our country and our heritage, how we will understand other cultures. As a result, travelling in our country helps us discover our descendants.

Secondly, there is an economic dimension, especially, today in my country’s money value loss. For this reason, other countries are really expensive for our citizens. For instance, when a Turkish person goes abroad to travel, it can cost a fortune for them. First, they have to buy plane ticket, and arrange accommodation place and so forth. On the other hand, if a turk travels in Turkey, they would easily spend money and buy whatever they want. They can also buy a plane ticket or book somewhere to stay but it will be cheaper than going on a journey to another country. In conclusion, from my point of view, while we are travelling, our economic situation becomes more important for us.

In a nutshell, I think people have to learn their own culture and historical heritage at first. In addition to this, travelling in our county will be cheaper for us. Hence, people can get more benefit while they visit their own county.
