The following bar chart shows the different modes of transport used to travel to and from work in one European city in 1960, 1980 and 2000.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates four various types of transportations over the years 1960, 1980 and 2000. It is measured by percentages. Overall, it can be clearly seen that while using cars depicted a continuous increasing inclination in the travel mode, the use of other vehicles presented a decreasing trend during the given period.

In details, cars were the least used method of commuting at the beginning of the period, preferred by only 5% of the total travellers. However, car use grew steadily and reached the rate of 35% in 2000, which was a significant seven fold growth.

During the same period, walking, which used to be the most popular method of transportation at the beginning, experienced a sharp nosedive and finished the period with just under 10%. While using bicycle was substantionally decreasing from 25% to 5%; the utilization of buses was at a moderate proportion between 20-15%, except a leap in the year 1980. At the end of the period, it is evident that the usage of bike was the least popular kind of transportation, whereas that of cars was the most favorable one among the travallers.
