Do you agree or disagree with the statement?
Good teachers set challenging tasks for their students?

In today’s world teachers have very importants roles in their students lives. Since we start our education at very young ages, our teachers have power of giving shape to our characters , hobbies and successes. If we have strict and unfavorable teachers. We can be shy and feel lack of self-confidence. On the other if we meet understanding, lovable, succesful teachers, we can be accomplished and confident person in the future. I thing being a good teacher is not just about setting challenging tasks for student and therefore I do not agree with the statement. Following, in this essay, I will explain my wiew point with two reasons.

First of all, being teacher is not an easy job. It requires teaching skills and emphaty. If a teacher possesses these specialities, They will have the first step of being good teachers. When a teacher lacks this features, students’ lives are effected in many ways. For instance, children commonly start school at the age of seven in Turkey. This age group is too energetic and playful. For this reason, they have propensity to be naughty behave eifishly. If they have a strict, angry and scary teacher, children try not to be mischievous. It seems like a good thing but this situation obstructs children’s potential of learning and leads to inadequate self confidence in these children. Therefore, teachers behavior towards a child is more important than anything else. This is the first step of being a good teacher because teacher’s attitudes are highly capable to change student’s whole lives.

Secondly, all teachers have their own teaching ways. Some of them believe that setting challenging tasks for their students students make them good teachers, but other think that being a quailfied teacher does not necesserily mean setting these tasks for the students. The best way of the teaching is being skillful at lecturing. If the students do not understand the lesson well they can not solve the tasks assigned by the teacher. In this point setting cumbersome tasks for students becomes unsensible. As a results, it is not an indicator of being highly skillful teacher.

To som up, there are too many teachers in the world, an like our personalities, their teaching styles are different from one another. From my view, setting difficult tasks for students are not related to teaching well, because being a good teacher is about teachers character and relationship with students. The second is about tecaher’s lecturing way and their skills about lecturing. Hence I do not evaluate teachers with the tasks they assign.
